I live on the paradise island of Mallorca and work as a Superyacht Charter Broker. For those not in the industry, that means I organise holidays on Superyachts anywhere in the world. It's a wonderful life and a wonderful job. In addition, I deeply care for our marine environment and have volunteered with the ocean conservation project eXXpedition.
It might seem like a complete contradiction to be working in the luxury industry of Superyachts and also talk about ocean conservation and sustainability In some respects you would be right. Fuel guzzling megayachts do not go hand in hand with sustainable living, but I believe we are all multilayered individuals and do not need to be defined by any one choice we make. I love yachts, all yachts. Sailing yachts, eco yachts, large megayachts, classic yachts and quite frankly anything that floats on water right down to paddle boards. I used to work as a private chef on sailing superyachts and I love my current job of creating dream holidays from destination planning to finding the perfect fit of yacht to client. During my time as a private chef I sailed to so many locations in the world from St Tropez to Galapagos Islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, New Zealand, Caribbean ..... In doing so I developed a real connection and passion for our oceans and marine life. It is our duty to ensure that we strive to protect this wonderful marine environment and the individuals within the Superyacht community have wealth, influence and power to really make a difference here. |
My aim is to connect my philanthropic work with my work in the Superyacht industry to gain support and exposure for the work people are doing out there to protect and rescue our oceans from the plastic pollution and toxins we have contaminated them with. With any success I gain in my career I will pledge to work with philanthropic and conservation charities to give back.
